Carrying a 5.0 GPA, MIT junior D. Carrington Motley (Pittsburgh, Pa.) was presented with the NCAA Elite 89 Award at the NCAA Division III Track and Field Championship Wednesday night at St. Lawrence University. Motley becomes the third student-athlete this school year to receive this accolade. A mechanical engineering major, Motely is the ninth MIT student-athlete to earn this award since it was established during the 2009-10 season.
